Jim started playing steel when he was about 18 years of age. Getting married at the age of 20 years and work and family left him little time for his steel guitar playing. Regretfully he sold his steel guitar and that was the end of his music for many years.
Some 40 years later after the loss of his wife he turned back to music to try and fill a very large hole in his life. Three years ago he purchased a D-8 Capopus and has making good progress since then. Now semi-retired, Jim finds himself with more time to spend on his music. Jim primarily uses a C6 tuning but sometimes uses the A6 tuning. Jim is shown here playing the Canopus with friends that he plays with: Bill on Uke and Piet on rhythm guitar.
