Ron is from Auckland, New Zealand. He started playing pedal steel in a country music club 20 years ago and later became fascinated with Hawaiian steel guitar music and started playing the lap steel guitar. He has played in various local (New Zealand) groups over the years and belongs to a Hawaiian steel guitar club in Auckand.
